RE: Jayco Designers

3500 Dodge dually with Cummins diesel. Does a real nice job, and have squeezed up to 15 mpg

RE: Jayco landing gear problem

I have learned not to raise the trailer to level using the rear electric jacks. Yes it trips the internal breaker. Next time, try lowering your rear landing jacks to a snug setting to the ground and use the front landing gear to raise the front to level.
Your intermittent problem with the front gear needs to be explored further. Sounds like a short in either the switch, or fuse panel, or electric motor. Try wiggling the wires in these areas when someone else operates the switch. Hope this helps

RE: Draining fresh water tanks

Mine was draining slowly also when brand new on my Designer 35CLQS. I crawled under the unit and took apart the drain valve on the fresh water tank and determined there was a kink in the line. I turned the drain cock 180' around and now it works just fine. Remember to turn one of the faucets on to allow air into the system.

RE: Jayco 35RLTS and RVDirect

I purchased mine from RV Direct in Feb 07, and very pleased at the experience. I picked it up in Des Moines, and then imported it back to Canada. I have the Edge Chip in my Dodge, and made a positive difference in performance and fuel mileage. The newer the vehicle, the more technical they are getting. Do your research and pick the chip best designed for your truck

RE: RVDIRECT,, can it be?????

That's what I did, and no regrets. Think of it as a road trip. RV Direct was really good to deal with

RE: 2008 jayco designer ???

We really like ours. After researching many others, this unit surpassed them all in the same price range.
We were excited about our 35CLQS but they don't offer that in '08

RE: Waiting on update of the '08 Jayco Designer RLTS group

Why don't you ask the people at Des Moines RV to store it for you until April? They did for me...no problems!! What is this group you are talking about?

RE: Ideal distance from bed rails to frame

You really want your trailer to sit level when attached to the truck, and loaded. Once it is level then adjust accordingly. If you have to "flip" the axles, go ahead as this is not uncommon anymore, especially using newer trucks and older trailers. Bed clearance is important, because you don't want to damage your truck, so use about 7" as a guide. You want your trailer sitting flat and level going 70 mph down an Interstate and having to stop in a hurry, because if it isn't, the balance will be off...and who knows what will happen to the trailer
